To some extent every one who tackles the process does it alone, even if you’ve got someone showing you initially you have to wander in the wilderness and work it out. When you come from a part of the world where there are no veteran daguerreotypists to offer advice (an assumption on my part here, but hopefully an accurate one), how much harder it must be to delve into the process. Cue the age of the internet where the lineage of solitary practitioners since the time of Daguerre are drawn together into a community for the benefit of all.
Jeff Green is a contemporary daguerreotype collector, a sponser of related events and has offered to purchase $100 worth of daguerreotype plates from daguerreotypists for Li of China since he has been having difficulty getting good silvered plates. If you would like to sell or provide plates for Li contact email@example.com and we will facilitate getting them to him.
